Ron Proctor, a frequent visitor at Glen Canyon Park, has made two short videos about the felling of the trees. The first shows the start of the tree-demolition on Day 1.
And here’s the additional destruction on Day 2.

depressing. how do these people get to waste public money like this? especially when we have such a tight budget. go help something and stop destroying.
I am just sick. I can’t watch these videos. Photos of such willful destruction under the guise of environmentalism and with bogus science is bad enough. It is just so sad to watch this relatively small group of people destroy the City we love.

It makes me sad and somewhat ill to watch this destruction. I watched the tree fall on the tennis court fence with a resounding crash–it startled me and a young woman with her children standing on the field… . I spoke about the whole project to a young sawyer who told me that he really didn’t like the idea either, but he was only an employee.
